NORTH CANTON, Ohio – November 14, 2017 – DropStream is a new Mac application that enables 4K streaming of over 30 types of video, audio and image files to common household AirPlay and Google Cast receivers.
DropStream allows users to stream content to Apple TV (2nd, 3rd and 4th generation, 4K), Chromecast, Chromecast Ultra, Chromecast Audio, Google Cast-enabled TVs, AirPlay-enabled speakers and Reflector-enabled devices.
System audio streaming
In addition to media streaming, DropStream enables system audio streaming so users can send audio from services like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and more directly to a receiver or home entertainment system.
“DropStream accomplishes what previously required two separate applications,” Squirrels cofounder Andrew Gould said. “The ability to stream system audio and stream media used to set you back about $50. DropStream combines those capabilities into one application for a fraction of the price.”

How it works
The DropStream interface allows easy selection of which media to stream and where to stream it. Simply drag and drop a file or create an entire playlist.
Playlists and subtitles
DropStream is a “set it and forget it” streaming solution when needed, as it allows users to stream curated playlists of their media files.
DropStream also supports 11 subtitle formats.
File support
DropStream is compatible with more than 30 video, audio and image file types, including: webm, mkv, flv, ogv, ogg, avi, mov, wmv, asf, mp4, mpeg, mpg, mpv, m4v, 3gp, divx and more.
How to get it
DropStream is available immediately from the Squirrels online store for $9.99 USD and is compatible with macOS 10.10 and higher. A Windows version will be released at a later date.
